Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the gift of my child/children You have entrusted to my care. Please watch over them as they begin a new school year. Bless their teachers, school administrators, bus drivers, school support staff, friends and classmates.
Keep them safe every day. I pray they may feel Your presence and know that You are always with them. Help them recall my loving words of support for them. Give them wisdom to make good choices, and an openness to learn new things. Fill them with knowledge and positive thinking. Help them overcome obstacles and shield them from negativity.
Surround my child/children with good friends who also know and love You. Help them treat each other with kindness, fairness, and respect. May they treat each person they encounter as another child of God. Grant them the Grace to place their trust in You so they may know Your peace. Amen

The Latin phrase written in their halos, βSS Mater Boni Consilii, Ora Pro Nobis Jesum Filium Tuumβ means βMost Blessed Mother of Good Counsel, Pray for Us to Your Son Jesusβ in English.
Our blessed mother prays for us. She is our intercessor, our mediator, who pleads on our behalf to her sonβ¦. Donβt be afraid to go to her with your needs and your heartβs desire. Pray to her. Ask her for help in anything you may want or need. She will gladly intercede for you.
Remember the wedding feast at Cana? It was the blessed Mother who saw the need and went to Jesus for help when there was no more wine. And even though Jesus told her it was not His time, she instructed the servants to do whatever He told them to do. Jesus is a good obedient son. He will not refuse His mother of what she asks.
βRemember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it know that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence we fly unto you, O virgin of virgins, our mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.β

Thank you for sharing this beautiful reminder of our blessed mother's love and intercession! π
"The very rote-ness of his interaction in the sacrament stirred me to tears. When I had confessed, he didnβt give me counsel or talk to me. This was a tired old human priest. He gave me my penance, absolved me, and asked me to pray for him as he had asked thousand of other penitents to do. Nothing different, nothing unique. I burst into tears." ... See MoreSee Less
